COUNTRY Garden Properties (M) Sdn Bhd (CGP) said the five-star living concept of its Country Garden Danga Bay project here will appeal to a lot of Malaysian as well as foreign investors.
Kayson Yuen, regional president of Malaysian projects for CGP, said at the moment, there is no development in Johor Baru that integrates residential units, commercial streets, a large-scale shopping mall, a man-made beach and a marina.
“Country Garden will be the first in the city to create a one-stop lifestyle for the residents. We believe that these amenities and features will definitely attract local and international buyers,” said Yuen.
COUNTRY Garden Properties is a unit of Country Garden Holdings Co Ltd, one of the largest property developers in China that is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The Country Garden Danga Bay project is located in a 23ha plot in Danga Bay, with a gross development value of about RM18 billion.
It will be developed in three phases over the next five years.
Yuen said Iskandar Regional Development Authority’s vision to develop Johor Baru into a strong and sustainable metropolis in the international arena, the attractive policies and its potential in growing into the next Shenzhen in China are some of the reasons behind Country Garden’s decision to invest in Danga Bay.
“Having developed more than 100 townships in China, we have chosen the crème of the crop for the development in Malaysia by incorporating our designs in terms of layout and functionality and humanising the developments to meet the needs of the local market,” said Yuen.
He said in order to cater to individual and family needs, the company is offering 17 different designs for its residential units, which range from 400 sq ft to 3,000 sq ft.
“Our target market is a mixture of local and foreign buyers, including from Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, Hong Kong and Middle East, although the majority would be local buyers.
“To attract these local and international prospective buyers, we have initiated some roadshows and registration activities and the response has been overwhelming,” said Yuen,
The company is currently holding a showcase at the Danga Bay Convention Centre to promote the development and is planning to launch a showroom and sales gallery by the third quarter of the year.
The Country Garden Danga Bay project is CGP’s third project in Malaysia. It already has projects in Rawang and Kajang.
