Khazanah Nasional Bhd’s unit i2M Ventures Sdn Bhd is expected to announce new investment deals in Iskandar Malaysia in October.
According to i2M managing director Zulfiqar Zainuddin, the company aims to secure four to five more investment deals to position the area as a major potential hub for the region’s outsourcing market.
“Now we are in the midst of finalising a few deals,” he told a press conference here yesterday.
Zulfiqar said the company plans to announce the new investments at the Asia-Pacific Outsourcing Summit (APOS) in Iskandar Malaysia on October 21 to 24.
i2M, which focuses on strategic investments promotion initiatives for the business service sector in the economic corridor, is the host sponsor for the APOS.
“The APOS summit will be the perfect platform to share the key upcoming projects we have been working on for Iskandar Malaysia,” he said.
In 2012, US-based Frost & Sullivan has opened its global innovation centre in Iskandar Malaysia.
Zulfiqar said with RM595 million investment, Frost & Sullivan aims to create 830 jobs by end-2019.
“Frost & Sullivan is just the beginning for outsourcing in Iskandar Malaysia. Winning the projects is just half of the battle. We need to ensure the projects are delivered successfully as promised,” he said.
i2M was formerly known as Malohom Bay Ventures Sdn Bhd.
